Yoga Teacher Trainings RYT 200

Maha Shanti School of Yoga offers Yoga Alliance-registered RYT 200-hour Yoga teacher trainings. Dive deep into authentic and traditional yoga in one of our immersive 21-day programs, honoring and following the lineage of Swami Sivananda.

By enrolling in this program, you will:

• Learn the skill to share traditional yoga
• Gain expertise in safely assisting others and deepen your knowledge of yoga physiology
• Enhance your personal practice with daily yoga (Asana) classes
• Develop a deep understanding of yoga philosophy
• Cultivate mindfulness through daily meditation, learning to distance yourself from your thoughts
• Participate in daily chants (Kirtan) and sharing fruits in a circle (Satsang)
• Learn how to breathe properly

April 20th - May 10th, 2025

This training is suitable for all ages and all levels, whether you are beginning your yoga journey or deepening your practice. All you are being asked is to come with an open mind and discipline. 

The training takes place in a beautiful thatched-roof, open-air studio built by Mayan artisans, located near North Beach on Isla Mujeres, Mexico. 

Lal Maharajh (E-RYT 500) with his team will facilitate this training. He is the director of the Maha Shanti School of Yoga, has trained hundreds of yoga teachers in the lineage of Swami Sivananda and brings many decades of experience.

Our training curriculum is designed to give you a well-rounded education in yoga. Over the course of the program, you will dive into the following core areas:

Daily Meditation, Kirtan & Satsang

Create a new habit with us with the daily early morning session. In this circle right before dawn we ask you to go inside, cultivate inner peace and attain focus.

Asana (Yoga Postures) with Proper Breathing and Relaxation

• A teacher is always a student. Deepen your own practice with daily yoga (Asana) classes, so that you can share what you have realized in your own practice
• Learn how to be intimate with your breath to be in a relaxed state
• The daily Asana classes include proper breathing and proper relaxation 

Yoga Philosophy 

Gain a deep understanding of yoga philosophy. Explore a range of meaningful topics, providing you with a well-rounded foundation in the principles of yoga. 

Anatomy and Physiology

Gain understanding of anatomy and how the structure of the body makes one's practice unique. Learn about the benefits, rules and contraindications of the traditional sequence.

Teaching Methodology

• Learn to share a traditional yoga class
• Develop hands-on adjustment skills and learn how to safely assist others
• Participate in practical teaching sessions to build confidence and refine your teaching techniques
• Learn variations in the sequence according to physical condition of students

This in-depth curriculum prepares you to share with integrity and knowledge, whether you aim to teach professionally or deepen your practice.

Maha Shanti School of Yoga is a Alliance Registered School (RYS). By completing this Yoga teacher training you have the opportunity to become a Yoga Alliance Member.

• Willingness to commit fully to the program schedule and assignments

• Attendance: Attendance at all sessions is required unless prior arrangements are made.

• Receive Acceptance & Training Details: Upon acceptance, you will receive an email with further information, including a list of materials and dress code for the training.
• Secure Your Spot: Reserve your place by submitting the USD $500 deposit after acceptance.
